I witnessed a customer behave in a very disrespectful and irrational manner towards staff of this site, and the employee handled the customer with maturity and respect. I wanted to speak up and tell the customer how irrational she was, but the employee did not need my help...she handled herself with great professionalism. Whomever owns that site should be very proud of their staff.

Great selection of ingredients (build your own burger, you can even have guacamole on it) and awesome poutine!!! They use chuck ground beef so your burger tastes like meat! Reasonably priced, highly recommend this place!

I come here all the time with my friends. One of my friends came up to me one day before lunch and said "Do you wanna go to Montreal Fries with me? I've never been, and I really wanna go." I said "Of course". So me, her, and another one of our friends go down there for lunch. They really liked it. Me and the owner, Wes, we're good friends, so we often chat about his business. After knowing the great experience in Toronto at Wildfire we are so glad that Oshawa has opened this upscale steakhouse. There is no other place to go for a 1st class meal in Durham and we recently celebrated my fathers 90th in their party room. Service, atmosphere and food were fantastic and of course the wine list was impressive.

I cant say enough good things about this restaurant! I always take out of town visitors there because I would rather visit than cook, and their food is superb. They are friendly, reasonably priced, the service is great, and the atmosphere is cheerful.

Went in with some co-workers for lunch and the service was fast & the food tasted great!
Our waitress was very polite and attentive even with a full restaurant and all of our orders were made right!
We found the prices to be quite good as the portions were large and fresh.
Has an old school diner feel, could use some updating, but it was very clean inside.
Definitely going back soon :)

We have visited many Italian reataurants throughout Ontario from Brockville to Niagara Falls, Oshawa to North Bay and Avanti's in Oshawa is number one. Not because we live here, because of the food, the service, the friendly atmosphere and the cleanliness of this establishment. Their Fusilli in Bianco is our favorite. We have dined there many times before Oshawa Generals Hockey games and Shows at the newly renovated Regent Theatre. And we are so proud to mention Avanti's everywhere we go. They bring out the pride in Oshawa when it comes to dining out.

Went to DC with the child for open house and decided to look for lunch on the way to 401. We passed it and turned back as we didn't want fast food. It's a tiny place with 2 tables and 4 rickety chairs but we are happy we stopped there. The girl (owner's daughter it turns out) behind the counter was sweet and efficient. She made us 4 samosas & 4 shawarmas that were delicious and filling. The owner provided 2 free bottles of water for our 1st time there as well as a orange drink for the two guys ahead of us, also their 1st time. Friendly, fun and good food too. We put the tables together and had an excellent lunch. There's just no elegant way to eat shawarmas so you need lots of napkins. Wouldn't want to eat there in the winter as it probably gets quite cold in there.

Great atmosphere. Nice little pub in downtown Oshawa. Just moving to Oshawa about a year ago never would have thought to even try this place (being downtown). The wings are great (best I have had in Oshawa so far, and "yes" I have been to the Bulldog and Jax's). The only bad thing that I could say about the wings, they are a little on the small side and the hot are not all that hot. The service is alright (good at times, but alright). Nice little patio, clean washrooms, decent bar, good mix of different age groups. Been there twice, was a jazz/blues band playing during our second visit. Great place!!!

If you have the time to kill and don't mind being squeezed in or sometimes listening to the hung over college kids, it is quite the meal. I've passed going there a few times due to crowd. But have never been disappointed with the food at all or the value.

Even if you are not into sushi, it is worth a trip to Kakemono!
My boyfriend LOVES sushi and although I don't mind it, it is not my favourite meal in the world. However, I love Teriyaki and the Teriyaki dishes on Kakemono's all you can eat menu are wonderful. The prices are reasonable when compared to the price you may for most all-you-can-eat places and the food was great. We will be going back in the near future!
